Health IT Program and Scholarship Application Form

The Healthcare IT Micropathway Program will offer three [3] scholarships for students from underrepresented backgrounds who are interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare Information Technology. The scholarship will cover full tuition, fees, and the cost of the CompTIA A+ certification exam for selected students in the Healthcare IT Program at Seattle Central College.

To be eligible for the Health IT Program and scholarship opportunities, please ensure that you complete the Seattle Central Enrollment Process and complete the following application below by July 5, 2024.

Health IT Program and Scholarship Application Requirements

To apply for the Health Information Technology Certificate Scholarship, please provide the following:

  1. One [1] Letter of Recommendation
    • Please submit one [1] letter of recommendation from a teacher, employer, or mentor who can speak to your character, work ethic, and potential success in Health Information Technology.
  2. Personal Statement (less than 500 words). In your personal statement, address the following prompts: 
    • Reflect on a core value that serves as a guiding principle in your life, how this value shapes your character, and influences your interactions with others. Provide concrete examples illustrating its impact on your decisions and actions.
    • Even if you are new to Health IT, express your genuine interest in the field. Describe your initial curiosity and eagerness to learn more about Health IT. While you may have yet to gain direct experience, highlight any relevant coursework, internships, volunteer work, or personal projects demonstrating your enthusiasm for exploring this area.
    • Outline your career aspirations within Health Information Technology. Describe how earning the Health IT certificate aligns with your professional goals and will contribute to your career growth and advancement.
  3. Please make sure that your Personal Statement thoroughly addresses each prompt.
