Application Tips – Read Before You Start

  • Use an email you check often. We'll send all important reminders to this email — make sure it’s one you actually use.
  • Use the same email for everything. That includes this application, your Seattle College application, FAFSA/WASFA, placement, and event sign-ups. Keeping it consistent helps keep everything connected.
  • Double-check your info. A small mistake in your name or email could mean missing out on important updates.
  • Keep your info safe and organized. Save your logins, passwords, and security questions in one place you can easily find later.
  • Need help? Just ask. Your Seattle Promise Outreach Specialist is here for you, by email, text, Zoom, or phone.

Student Contact Information

We ask for contact information so we can keep you up-to-date with Seattle Promise requirements. Fields marked with an * are required.

Parent/Guardian Information

By listing your parent/guardian’s contact information, you give Seattle Promise permission to share your Seattle Promise progress with them. This includes general program information like dates and deadlines and specific information like your individual standing with the Seattle Promise program. If you do not include contact information for your parent/guardian/adult support person, they can only receive Directory Information, per FERPA guidelines.

If you have more than two adults that you would like to receive communications regarding Seattle Promise, please email promise@seattlecolleges.edu with additional contact information, and we'll make sure they receive parent or guardian communications.

High School Information

Please tell us about your current high school and experience.

If your high school is not listed, please list your high school and any information about why you may qualify for Promise (e.g., you plan to transfer to an eligible high school and graduate this year). If you're unsure about your eligibility or your situation is unique, please still submit this form and contact us directly at promise@seattlecolleges.edu.

College Information and Goals

At our Readiness Academy event this Spring, we will suggest courses based on your career goal. It is perfectly natural not to know right now, but please tell us the types of job areas or careers you may want to explore in college. Please list any programs that you know you are interested in enrolling in (e.g., Maritime or Automotive). Explore our programs here.

What area of study are you most interested in?

Some programs require additional steps for enrollment. Please check if you are planning to enroll in any of the following programs:

Financial Aid

You must submit your FAFSA or WASFA to your Seattle College by April 30, 2026. Complete this as soon as you can so you can be eligible for the maximum amount of financial aid.

Equity Scholarship

Seattle Promise is able to provide some students with additional funds beyond tuition support based on eligibility as determined by the FAFSA/WASFA and the City of Seattle. Submitting this Seattle Promise Application indicates that you have read and agree to the following Equity Scholarship criteria. These criteria apply to any Equity Scholarship funds you may receive for the academic year.

  • I understand that Equity Scholarship funds are provided to assist in meeting school-related expenses ONLY.
  • I understand that I may be required to repay any Equity Scholarship funds I receive if I withdraw from classes prior to published census dates for each quarter.
  • I understand that I may be required to repay any Equity Scholarship funds I receive if the funds are used for purposes other than approved school-related expenses.

Your Information and How We Use It

Seattle Promise wants to support you in the best way possible. Sometimes, we need to share a small amount of your information with trusted partners to help you get benefits like free transportation, scholarships, or job opportunities. You can choose what you're okay with.

Please check all that you're okay with:

I give permission to share my name, month and year of birth, preferred email, college, enrollment, and Seattle Promise status with partners like Seattle Department of Transportation (for an ORCA card), Seattle Youth Employment Program (for internships), and colleges/universities (for transfer and scholarship help) where I might directly benefit.

By giving us permission, we can share my name, month and year of birth, high school, Seattle Promise status, academic program, enrollment status, credits earned, and information provided on your Seattle Promise application with my high school, community-based supporters, or transfer partners. This helps them guide me through steps like applying for college, taking placement tests, finishing financial aid, attending Seattle Promise events, registering for classes, and transferring to a 4-year college to earn my bachelor’s degree.

I give permission for Seattle Promise to report to my high school about how I’m doing in college including my name, high school, academic program, enrollment status, how many credits I’ve taken, and when I earn a credential. This allows them to improve support for future students including earning college credit for high school classes.

I do not give permission for Seattle Colleges to share any of my student-protected information through the Seattle Promise program. I understand that I will not receive an ORCA card, internships, and scholarships at 4-year transfer institutions through Seattle Promise partnerships.
