Equity Scholarship Acknowledgement Form

The Seattle Colleges and the City are committed to increasing equity in the Seattle Promise program. To support students with demonstrated financial need, the program includes non-tuition financial assistance, called The Seattle Promise Equity Scholarship (Equity Scholarship).  

In addition to student support services and tuition supports (which are universal) some students will have access to the Equity Scholarship. The sole purpose of this Equity Scholarship is to remove potential financial barriers for low-income students that could lead to a student’s inability to complete their program.

All purchases/payments made with Equity Scholarship funds must qualify as school-related expenses. 

To access the Equity Scholarship, students must be determined to be eligible by the financial aid office based on the academic year’s scholarship criteria, which are established by the City of Seattle and the Seattle Colleges on an annual basis. NOTE: not all Seattle Promise students will be eligible for the Equity Scholarship.

My signature below indicates that I have read and agree to the following Equity Scholarship criteria. These criteria apply to any Equity Scholarship funds I receive for the academic year.
             

• I understand that Equity Scholarship funds are provided to assist in meeting school-related expenses ONLY.
• I understand that I may be required to repay any Equity Scholarship funds I receive if I withdraw from classes prior to published census dates for each quarter.
• I understand that I may be required to repay any Equity Scholarship funds I receive if the funds are used for purposes other than approved school-related expenses.
